LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter likes his products to be made in the U.S. of A.

While speaking to a TMZ photographer at the Maxfield store in Malibu Tuesday, the 34-year-old singer joked that America should chose his brother Aaron Carter over troubled Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

Carter's comment came after the photographer told his brother -- a former teen heartthrob --that he was the "original Justin Bieber." But while Aaron refused to answer, his big brother took over and said:

"Justin Bieber's cool and all ... a whole new generation .... but he's Canadian. Aaron's American," he quipped. "Go back to Canada, Justin ... America, stick with my brother."
