LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Kendrick Lamar is not upset that he didn't take home any Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

The 26-year-old rapper was nominated in seven categories and won none during Sunday night's awards show.

The fact that he had been snubbed was so evident that even Macklemore, who took home four Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album, for which Lamar was also nominated, apologized to the rapper for having "robbed" him.

"I wanted you to win. You should have. It's weird and sucks that I robbed you," Macklemore texted Lamar after the show.

But the "Swimming Pools" crooner doesn't hold a grudge against his fellow rapper.

“It’s well deserved; he did what he did, man,” Kendrick said of Macklemore. “He went out there and hustled and grinded. Everything happens for a reason; the universe comes back around, that’s how it go.”

Lamar was nominated for Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Best R&B Performance, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album.
