Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Two men were killed at a courthouse in Frankfurt on Friday. The suspect was arrested nearby.

The attack occurred around 8:45 a.m. local time when a 47 year-old Afghan national from a town near Frankfurt opened fire in a courtyard of the courthouse, killing one man. The suspect chased a second man into the courthouse and stabbed him. The second victim died at the hospital.

The victims, aged 45 and 50, were at the courthouse for their own murder trial, accused of attacking three men at a parking garage in 2007.

There was no further information regarding the motive for Friday's attack.
