Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber took a page out of Michael Jackson's playbook and climbed to the top of his black SUV to wave to fans following his release from jail on Thursday.
Miami Beach police arrested the 19-year-old early Thursday morning after officers saw him racing a yellow Lamborghini through a residential neighborhood. He reportedly told police that he had been under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and anti-depressants.
After a judge set Bieber's bond at $2,500, the Canadian singer appeared outside Miami-Dade Jail Thursday afternoon wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood over his head.
Bieber's attorney, Roy Black, spoke to reporters following the pop star's release.
"At this particular time I'm not going to make any comment about the case except to say obviously that Mr. Bieber's been released on bail," Black said. "Both the state and I agree that the standard bail would apply in this case. They have not asked for any increase bail because of his popularity or fame. And I think this case hopefully will proceed as any other case in the system."
