Justin Bieber arrested for DUI, drag racing in Miami

Justin Bieber is in custody in a Miami police department waiting for authorities to book him into jail.

The 19-year-old Canadian pop star was arrested early Thursday morning in Miami Beach for driving under the influence, drag racing, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest without violence, TMZ reported.

Bieber was driving a yellow Lamborghini in a residential neighborhood when cops first noticed him. Sources claim the singer's crew had blocked off Pine Tree Drive at 26th Street so he could drag race. The person he was racing against, rapper Khalil Sharief, was also arrested.

Bieber reportedly told police was under the influence of beer, anti-depressants and had been smoking marijuana all day. After failing a field sobriety test at the scene, sources claim he will presumably be subjected to further testing to precisely measure his blood alcohol level.

In addition his DUI, drag racing, and driving with a suspended license charges, the singer was charged with resisting arrest for refusing to take his hands out his pockets when cops asked him to do so. Officials added that Bieber was "incoherent" at the time of the arrest.

The Opa-locka Police Department is also investigating officers who gave Bieber and his crew an unauthorized escort through traffic after landing at the Opa-locka airport. The officers have been released form duty with pay.

There's no word on whether the arrest could end up in deportation for the Canadian "Hearbreaker" singer. While Bieber's arrest record states that the singer has American citizenship, he has publicly said he wouldn't like to adopt U.S. citizenship over the country's lack of socialized medicine.

According to Fox News, the singer could be jailed and deported if convicted.
