Abigail Breslin learned a lot while shooting her latest film, August: Osage County.

Breslin co-stars alongside Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep in the John Wells-directed black comedy-drama, and according to her, shooting the film was like going to "acting school."

"It was more (about) seeing how they were on set and watching them act, that was a big lesson. I felt like I was at an acting school for three months because I learned so much just from watching them," Bang Showbiz quoted Breslin as saying.

Both Roberts, 46, and Streep, 64, got Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for their mother-daughter roles as Barbara Weston-Fordham and Violet Weston.

''It was pretty intimidating, very nerve-racking at first," she said of working with the Oscar winners. "They're like people that you've looked up to your whole life and then you have to, like, sit around a table and act with them. But once I'd met everybody and realized that they were so nice and really welcoming and everything, it was much easier. They were really good to me.''

Breslin, 17, played Roberts' teen daughter Jean Fordham in the film. She is best known for her breakout role in 2006's Little Miss Sunshine and secured commercial success in romantic comedies like No Reservations alongside Catherine Zeta Jones and Definitely Maybe where she co-starred with Ryan Reynolds.
