After spending last season as the offensive coordinator for the woeful Cleveland Browns, it sounds as if Norv Turner is likely going to be taking his talents north to Minnesota.

According to multiple reports, Turner is “close” to an agreement to become part of new coach Mike Zimmer’s staff in Minnesota and serve as offensive coordinator for the Vikings. Minnesota would be the ninth franchise Turner has worked for during his NFL career.

Zimmer agreed to become head coach in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Turner’s hiring would be good news for All Pro running back Adrian Peterson because the former head coach is known for his skills at developing superior passing attacks, something the Vikings could sorely use to help alleviate the pressure on AP.

Turner was fired as head coach of the San Diego Chargers after the 2012 season. After serving as head coach for three teams, his overall records sits at 114-122-1.
