Recovering starlet Amanda Bynes had her first day of class at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Orange County Tuesday.

"She was very nice, friendly and chatting with her classmates," a source told E! News of the actress.

The She's The Man star was supposedly going to be a fashion design major, but decided to go for merchandise product development instead. She is allegedly enrolled part-time for the winter quarter.

The 27-year-old actress was seen checking out the FIDM O.C. campus back in December.

Bynes has been spending a lot of time with her parents since she completed her rehabilitation at a Malibu treatment facility in early December. Since her release, she's been seen walking her dog, at Disneyland and grocery shopping with her parents a few times.

Bynes recently agreed to see a counselor twice a week for the next six months as part of a deal to settle her New York bong-tossing case.
