Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Jacqueline Bisset was very surprised to be the winner of Sunday night's Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television.

Not only did her astonishment leave her silent for a few seconds after she got the podium to accept her prize, but it also propelled her into an awkward speech that carried on for quite some time after the cut-out music began.

"God. Um, I think it was 47 years ago that the Hollywood Foreign Press gave me a 'Promising Newcomer'...Thank you very much, Hollywood Foreign Press. You've nominated me about five times," she began.

The 69-year-old star received the award for her amazing performance as Lady Lavinia Cremone in BBC's television drama Dancing on the Edge. She beat out Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, Parenthood's Monica Potter, Nashville's Hayden Panettiere, and White Queen's Janet McTeer for the Supporting Actress Golden Globe.
