Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are on tap to play husband and wife again, this time on the small screen in a new comedy for ABC.

The comedy doesn't have a title, script or studio attached to it yet, but ABC has already given executive producer Aaron Kaplan a commitment for the show.

The two will play a couple in their 60s enjoying their golden years who are suddenly forced to raise their grandchildren. Chase and D'Angelo have a long history of acting as husband and wife in the National Lampoon "Vacation" movies.

Chase abruptly left his last comedy series, "Community" during the fourth season after an outburst on set. Actor Joel McHale said the veteran comedic actor "didn't want to be there."

"When I would try [to get him to talk], he would just try to fight me," McHale said. "He physically wanted to fight me."

The new Kaplan comedy is expected to debut during the 2015-16 television season.
