Jan. 8 (UPI) -- After multiple deaths during Son of Anarchy's last season, there's room for additional characters to take on leading roles.

Drea de Matteo, who won a 2004 Emmy Award for The Sopranos, has been promoted to series regular for the hit biker drama's seventh and final season this fall.

De Matteo has made regular appearances on Sons since 2008's first season, playing Wendy Case, a recovering drug addict and the mother of Jax's son.
