Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Police in Tukwila, Wash., have arrested Mary Kay Letourneau -- the former elementary school teacher convicted of raping her 12-year-old student Vili Fualaau -- for failing to appear in court over a suspended license case.

Letourneau, who married Fualaau in 2005, was booked into King County Jail on Monday morning. Her arrest stems from a January 2013 charge of driving on a suspended license due to unpaid traffic tickets.
