Michael Schumacher reports should be treated with caution, manager says

Jan. 4 (UPI) -- The manager for former Formula One champion Michael Schumacher said health reports about the driver from anyone who isn't a doctor or manager should be treated with speculation.

A statement from Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's manager, said "invalid" health reports, like the one that said the driver's life was no longer at risk, have been cropping up since his Dec. 30 skiing injury that left him with cerebral lesions and brain contusions.

Schumacher has undergone two operations at a French hospital and remains in serious but stable condition.

"Michael's condition remains critical but stable. We would like to clearly stress that any information regarding Michael's health not coming from the doctors treating him or from his management must be treated as invalid and pure speculation," Kehm said.
