Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Gwyneth Paltrow and Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter have buried the hatchet following months of feuds over an upcoming profile on the Iron Man star.

It all began when Carter assigned Hollywood writer Vanessa Grigoriadis to profile Paltrow for the monthly publication. But when the 41-year-old found out about the piece, she reportedly emailed close friends and family members: "Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine . . . If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.”

The actress also declined to be interviewed for the article.

Paltrow's response sparked speculation that the article would feature a part of her life she'd like to keep hidden. Many gossip sites reported that she was trying to hide having cheated on her husband of 10 years, Chris Martin, with Miami billionaire Jeff Soffer.

Paltrow's agent denied the allegations and explained the two were longtime friends.

In spite of Paltrow's objections, Carter seemed firm on his decision to run the article.

"We started a story on her. We have a very good writer and it'll run," he told London's Times Magazine in October.

Since then, Paltrow and Carter have reportedly worked things out. But only after it was determined that the piece will be less controversial than initially speculated.

"Gwyneth and Graydon spoke on the phone a few weeks ago," an insider told Us Weekly. "They worked out some of their differences."

Reps for both the actress and the magazine mogul declined to comment.
