Dec. 17 (UPI) --
The final choices for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced Tuesday and this year six performers made the cut.
Nirvana, KISS, Linda Ronstadt, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates and Cat Stevens will be officially sworn into the Hall of Fame on April 10 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Fans were able to participate in this year's selection by voting for their favorite acts. Five of the fan-nominated performers made it to the final ballot of the Class of 2014 possible inductees. Three of the five artists from the fans' ballot made the final cut, the Hall of Fame said.
Since the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum was founded on April 20, 1983, 719 people have been inducted.
