Lamar Odom pleads no contest in DUI case

The former L.A. Clippers star will have to complete an alcohol education class and pay a fine following a plea deal in his DUI arrest.

Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Former L.A. Clipper Lamar Odom pleaded no contest to a charge of driving under the influence Monday and will be on probation for the next three years in return.

Khloe Kardashian's husband was arrested on August 30 at 3:25 a.m. after officers caught him driving erratically 101 Freeway in L.A. After failing sobriety tests and refusing to submit to a blood alcohol test, Odom was charged with one count of DUI.

As part of the deal reached Monday, Odom is required to complete an alcohol education class by June 9 and has been ordered to pay $1,814 in fines and fees.

The 34-year-old's license was suspended for one year for refusing to submit to the BAC test in August.

In addition to his DUI case, Odom has been in the news lately for failing to appear in the 2013 Kardashian Christmas card and for appearing in a video rapping about cheating on his wife.
