Shirley MacLaine makes a return appearance as Lady Grantham's American mother as the family gets ready to present Rose at her debutante ball, and Paul Giamatti finally makes his debut as Cora's brother Harold. Meanwhile Lady Edith continues to deal with the fallout of Michael Gregson's disappearance and her pregnancy.

The Downton special airs at 8:30 p.m. U.K. time (3:30 p.m. EST) on Christmas Day. Season four premieres on PBS Masterpiece in the U.S. on January 5.
