Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The cast and crew of the forthcoming Fast and the Furious 7 are facing a production delay in the wake of Paul Walker's death.

While the movie won't be cancelled entirely, reports claim that staffers will be taking a long break given that everyone involved is "too distraught to work, anyway."

Walker, 40, was set to reprise his role as Brian O'Conner in the seventh installment of The Fast and the Furious Franchise. The cast and crew were on break over thanksgiving weekend, but were set to continue shooting Monday.

Walker, died Saturday in a fiery car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif. According to the Los Angeles coroner, the actor's body was so baldy burned after the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT struck a light pole that it was unidentifiable at the crime scene. Both Walker and the driver, his friend Roger Rodas, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their autopsies will be delayed until the end of the week when both sets of dental records are obtained.

It has been said that a substantial amount of the film has already been shot, but both Walker and other cast members needed to complete additional scenes.

Sources claim that many cast members, including Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, won't consider returning to the set any time soon.

"No one wants to even think about the movie. Period," said the source.

The film's director James Wan tweeted about his own struggles with the news upon learning about the incident Sunday.

No announcements have been made regarding a possible rewrite, change in release date, recasting, or digital face replacement to deal with Walker's death.
