Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Is the way to your wife through her stomach? Michael Douglas thinks so.

The 69-year-old Behind the Candelabra star has made no secret of his desire to save his marriage with estranged wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, telling reporters at the Emmys in September that the two were "working things out."

In an attempt to win her back, the UK Mirror reported Sunday that Douglas walks from his bachelor pad to his former home with the 44-year-old actress every morning to make her and their children breakfast.

“Michael would give his right arm for a reconciliation but Catherine’s warned she is not ready to commit and she’s still not ruled out divorce," an unnamed "family friend" told the paper.

Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10, apparently love Douglas' special pancakes. He also visits them in the evening to watch TV before bed, a gesture that has reportedly "touched" his wife.

But sources also said that Zeta-Jones was still "making him suffer" over a comment he made about oral sex causing his throat cancer. Douglas has since said he actually suffered from tongue cancer.
