Alec Baldwin fired from MSNBC

Nov. 26 (UPI) -- MSNBC will be taking Alec Baldwin's new show off the air for good.

A week after the former 30 Rock star was suspended by the network after yelling insults allegedly including a homophobic slur at a paparazzi, TMZ is reporting that MSNBC has fired him.

Sources close to the incident claim the 55-year-old actor was let go "in part" over using homophobic slurs in his rant against a photographer.

After the incident, Baldwin issued a statement apologizing for his remarks.

"I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have -- and for that I am deeply sorry," Baldwin said in a statement posted on MSNBC.

A rep for MSNBC called the firing a "mutual parting" adding, "We wish Alec all the best."

Baldwin's MSNBC talk show "Up Late" ran from October 11 to November 8th.
