Nov. 24 (UPI) -- With so much drama surrounding Miley Cyrus' leotards and tongue-wagging, it's easy to forget that Lady Gaga loves to make dramatic fashion statements of her own.

While Cyrus showed up to the American Music Awards wearing a relatively subdued tuxedo, the 27-year-old ArtPop singer hit the red carpet astride a horse costume operated by two men.

"So much of ARTPOP is an infusion of disco," Lady Gaga said after her fantastical debut. "It's very Bianca Jagger arriving at Studio 54 on her white horse."

Jagger rode a real horse into the famed disco nightclub on her birthday back in 1977.

Gaga wore Versace, after signing an endorsement deal with the Italian designer.
