Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Instead of using his golf club to shoot a hole-in-one, an Illinois man used it to take on a six-point buck.
Keith Mohr came across the deer in his kitchen when he emerged from the shower. The deer, which had apparently come in through the window, was bleeding.
“I was screaming at him, ‘Get out of my house, get out of my house!’” Mohr said.
The deer attempted to leave the kitchen through a window above the sink, at which point Mohr’s wife locked herself in the bedroom and called 911.
“I was very fearful for him because all I kept hearing was crashing glass,” she said.
Mohr eventually grabbed his Callaway driver to ward off the deer.
“I just took my golf club and whacked him, and I knocked off his antler. It was my best club,” he said.
The 71-year-old cut his leg on the broken glass and his club was damaged, but the Mohrs will be fine. “Enormous damage,” Mohr said of his kitchen. “Every time he went around here he just bled or ripped something else down.”
