"Going through the past year and a half, I don't know how that changes a person or [when] a person breaks, but I feel like that happened to him," Shellie said of her husband, who was recently charged with assault and battery in a domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend Samantha Scheibe.
"I certainly hope that there are no causalities. I hope that there's no violence, but he does seem like a ticking time bomb," Shellie said of the arrest.
"I know I’m certainly afraid. I just hope that he can get maybe the help that he needs to deal with his situation and that no one else will be hurt," she added.
Shellie told Couric that she and George were happy when they first married in 2007.
I think he unraveled after the trial," she said. "Obviously there was the prior domestic dispute [charge] with his fiancee [in 2005], so he may have had that potential all along."
