Miss or Mr. Golden Globes help out during the on-air ceremony by carrying the statuettes and helping winners and presenters on and off the stage. Bacon follows a number of celebrity offspring to have borne the title, including Rumer Willis and Dakota Johnson.
“I am so grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for naming me this year’s Miss Golden Globe," Bacon said in a statement. "As a young actress who is just beginning my career, it is truly an honor to be a part of such a special night in film and television. I can only hope to continue the legacy and tradition of Miss Golden Globe by following in the footsteps of my predecessors.”
HFPA President Theo Kingma couldn't resist a "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" joke.
“As we all know, she comes from a very talented family and this gets us one degree closer to Kevin Bacon," he said.
Last year's hilariously successful comedic duo, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will host this year's ceremony, which airs January 12 on NBC.
