George Zimmerman was arrested and taken to Seminole County Jail Monday after police were called to respond to an alleged domestic violence incident.
Police responded to a call around 1 p.m., reportedly arresting Zimmerman at his girlfriend's home. He was booked on domestic violence charges at John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, Sheriff Don Eslinger confirmed.
While details were slim Monday afternoon, Zimmerman is reportedly dating a 27-year-old woman who lives on Topfield Court near Apopka.
Since Zimmerman, 30, was acquitted of the second-degree murder of teen Trayvon Martin in July, he has had a number of run-ins with police, including a domestic violence incident involving his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, and her father in September.
