(UPI) -- Seth MacFarlane
will lend the same politically incorrect sensibilities that made Family Guy
a cult hit to his latest effort, an animated comedy series about two families living on the U.S.-Mexico border.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bordertown will revolve around the families of Border Patrol agent Bud Buckwald and his Mexican immigrant next-door neighbor Ernesto Gonzales. Buckwald, who lives in a fictional Texas town with his wife and three children, "isn't adjusting well to the cultural changes around him."
Fox picked up 13 episodes of the series, which is likely to air on Sundays during the 2014-15 season.
MacFarlane isn't known for cultural sensitivity. An Asian-American advocacy organization criticized several scenes from his latest, life-action comedy, "Dads," prompting Fox to order reshoots.
