(UPI) -- Blake Shelton, outspoken Voice mentor and mocker of Adam Levine, took home two major Country Music Awards Wednesday night, including Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
"I had mentioned earlier today that if there was an award that would mean the most to me tonight, it would be album of the year," the Based on a True Story... singer said when he picked up his statuette.
The 37-year-old Oklahoma native also performed the ballad, "Mine Would Be You," at the ceremony.
Win or lose, Shelton knew he was going to have a great night.
He promised one fan on Twitter before the ceremony that he'd "be the drunk guy with vomit on my sleeve."
Later, reporters spotted him downing vodka and Sprite on the red carpet.
So...Blake Shelton is drinking vodka and Sprite on the #CMAs red carpet. Kind of hilarious that he prefers the drinks of a sorority girl.— People magazine (@peoplemag) November 6, 2013
