The Noise will mirror Durst's rise from a "tumultuous home life" to fronting a rock band -- similar to Limp Bizkit, which formed in 1994 and pumped out smash hits like "Nookie" and "Behind Blue Eyes." The series will take place in the 1990s.
Durst's interest in television isn't as random as it seems. Now 43, Durst previously worked on a sitcom called Douchbag with CBS. He directed 2007's The Education of Charlie Banks, starring Jesse Eisenberg.
Durst is also still making music with Limp Bizkit. After a four-year long hiatus, the band reunited in 2009. They're slated to release a new album in 2014.
