(UPI) -- Bob Barker, longtime host of The Price of Right, handed over his duties to Drew Carey in 2007. He's only been back once since then -- to promote his memoir Priceless Memories -- but will return to the show in a pre-taped appearance to air on his 90th birthday, December 12.
"We've had Bob on just one other time since Drew Carey took over the show," executive producer Mike Richards told TV Guide. "It was when Bob's book, Priceless Memories, came out and it was a priceless moment for fans. I was looking for the perfect reason to bring Bob back again and this TV legend turning 90 is the perfect reason."
According to Richards, Barker's appearance will air in the middle of a week dedicated to pet adoptions.
"Monday through Friday we're going to be doing pet adoptions, which is something Bob did on the show for years," he said.
Animals have always been close to Barker's heart. He recently paid $1 million to move elephants from a Canadian zoo to a much roomier wildlife sanctuary in California.
