"Pregnancy for me was a lot tougher than people saw on my show or from magazines," the 33-year-old, who has lost 43 pounds of the 50 she gained during pregnancy, told the mag. "So to get back to feeling like myself just makes me feel good again."
Kardashian, who became engaged to baby daddy Kanye West over the weekend, also admitted that media scrutiny about her weight added to her feelings of self doubt. She said paparazzi photos of her clothing choices and swollen feet made her want to "tune the media out."
She echoed those sentiments in an interview with the London Times' Style section, published Sunday, saying that public criticism "completely destroyed" her.
"I always envisioned that I would have this easy time just being pregnant, only my belly would get big," she also said in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians this month. "And it has just been so not that way for me. But sometimes, you just have to take life for what it is and enjoy the ride."
