(UPI) -- It appears that taking home the top spot on the list of the Most-Disliked NFL Players isn’t going to prevent Michael Vick from getting back on the field and he is expected to return from an injured hamstring and start against the New York Giants.
The Philadelphia Eagles could definitely benefit from having Vick back because fill-in starter Nick Foles was very underwhelming against the Dallas Cowboys and left Sunday’s game with a concussion.
Vick will announce his status for the Giants game when he speaks with reporters following Tuesday’s practice. He is expected to report that his hamstring has healed sufficiently enough for him to play.
He hurt the hamstring in the Eagles’ first meeting with the Giants on Oct. 6. Vick has reportedly been stepping up his rehab efforts in order to be ready to play this week.
Philadelphia Daily News reporter Les Bowen announced Vick’s anticipated return via Twitter.
In four full games this season, Vick has averaged 270 passing yards, 57 rushing yards and accounted for seven total touchdowns.
My understanding, from a source close to the situation, is that Mike Vick will use his news conference today to announce he's playing Sunday— Les Bowen (@LesBowen) October 22, 2013
