Rihanna booted from Abu Dhabi mosque over Instagram photo shoot

Authorities at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center asked Rihanna to leave after the pop star posed for Instagram photos deemed inappropriate.

(UPI) -- Rihanna's favorite vacationing pastime is to share seductive photos of herself on Instagram -- on boats in Thailand, on safari in South Africa, and in front of tiny penguins. But officials at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi weren't pleased that the 25-year-old singer took her international photo expedition to their religious landmark.

Though covered up in a black headscarf and full-length black jumpsuit, Rihanna was asked to leave by authorities who saw her posing for "inappropriate pictures" that "did not comply with terms and conditions" of organized visits to the mosque.

In one of the photos posted to her Instagram account, the "Stay" singer reclines near a pool of water at the mosque.

"#NoTanLines," she captioned the photo.

In another, Rihanna glares at a group of women wearing head scarves.

"B***h stole my look," she wrote.

While Rihanna's shoot felt tame in comparison to previous Instagram images, officials felt that her behavior didn't coincide with the sanctity of the mosque.

"She was asked to leave before entering the actual mosque, (she was in the courtyard taking pictures) after taking some photos that did not fit within the rules and regulations set out to preserve the sacredness of the center," the mosque said in a statement.
