"I passed my driving test this morning!!!" the 25-year-old songstress tweeted last week.
British instructor Noel Gaughan, who teaches an intensive driving course to busy students, said he didn't recognize Adele until she started singing during lessons.
"I didn't know who Adele was so she started singing in her lessons. The problem was I didn't know any of her songs, the 46-year-old Hertfordshire resident told the Telegraph.
"She would sing some beautiful songs and say, ‘you must know this one’, but I don't really know many celebrities," said Gaughan, who said he prefers radio to TV.
Gaughan's classes are often attractive to celebrities who are pressed for time -- One Direction's Niall Horan, and actors James McAvoy and Rhys Ifans have taken his classes.
"We are the first and only VIP driving school in the UK," Gaughan's website explains. "VIP driving courses is aimed at people with very busy lifestyles that are looking for a bespoke level of driving instruction."
"Noel is Dumbledore of roads," the "Someone Like You" singer said. "Could not have done it without him and his jokes changed my life."
