Pat Summitt Plaza and Statue to be unveiled November 22

(UPI) -- The dedication of the Pat Summitt Plaza and Statue will take place November 22 in Knoxville, Tenn.

The bronze statue of the former Lady Vols coach was created by artist and sculptor David Adickes of Houston, Texas.

The public is invited to attend the unveiling ceremony which take place on the corner of Lake Loudoun Blvd. and Phillip Fulmer Way.

Summit led the Tennessee women's basketball program from 1974 to 2012. During her 38-year-tenure, the Lady Vols posted a 1,098-208 record, won 32 SEC regular season and tournament titles as well as eight NCAA National Championships. She has more wins than other Divison I Basketball head coach men's or women's.

The 61-year-old coach is currently battling early onset Alzheimer's disease.
