Betty White wax figure comes to Washington D.C.

The wax figure of 91-year-old TV star Betty White is now at Madame Tussauds in Washington, D.C.

Betty White's wax figure will make its debut at Madame Tussauds’ Washington, D.C. location on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The lifelike figure was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood 16 months ago, but the replica will be in the nation's capital from October through December. White, a known animal lover and philanthropist, is now wearing a blue gown with beaded sleeves. The 91-year-old TV star's figure was previously clad in a hot pink tracksuit and sneakers.

Commenting about the figure, White said, "I want to thank Madame Tussauds Hollywood for taking their sweet time in making my wax figure. Would it have killed them to do this 50 years ago before gravity took over? Seriously though, it will be an honor to stand among the greats, like George Burns and Lucille Ball.”

According to a post on Madame Tussauds’ website:

We are excited to announce the arrival of Betty White. For a limited time only (October through December), you can meet the famed Hollywood TV icon right here in the Nation's Capital.

Betty White, best known for her roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Golden Girls, and Hot in Cleveland, has become a familiar face in America's homes. During her successful career, she has accomplished much, including receiving her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

White is the oldest living person to ever be honored by Madame Tussauds.
