Alabama coach Nick Saban announced Wednesday after practice that he had decided to suspend Ha'Sean "HaHa" Clinton-Dix indefinitely.

Saban did not cite a reason beyond "violation of team rules," as he has with nine other players he has suspended over the past eight months.

But amid Clinton-Dix's suspension, Alabama has placed an assistant strength coach on administrative leave for providing a "short-term loan" to Clinton-Dix.

Assistant strength and conditioning coach Corey Harris reportedly has "a connection to an associate of a sports agent," putting Clinton-Dix three degrees of separation from the man he's not supposed to speak to at all.

Harris allegedly loaned $500 to Clinton-Dix some time over the summer. Clinton-Dix was able to show bank records backing up his claim that he repaid Harris.

Even still, the lending is an NCAA violation and more than a "violation of team rules." Clinton-Dix is projected as a first-round pick in next year's draft, but any play time missed may affect his status.
