Hear Benedict Cumberbatch voice Smaug in latest 'Hobbit' trailer [VIDEO]

While Benedict Cumberbatch fans would be disappointed that Empire mag's "Sexiest Male Movie Star" doesn't actually show his face in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," he does lend his voice to the film's eponymous gold-hoarding dragon.

We only got a glimpse of Smaug's eye in the film's first trailer, but this time around, we get to hear his highly-anticipated voiceover.

“Thief, where are you?" Smaug says around the 2-minute mark. "Come now, don’t be shy. Step into the light."

We also get more complete looks at Legolas (Orlando Bloom, reprising his role as the lithe elven archer) and Evangeline Lilly's Tauriel.

"Desolation of Smaug" is the second installment of Peter Jackson's three-part "Hobbit" series. It hits theaters December 13.
