Moviephiles have been wondering for weeks whether Elizabeth Olsen had been tapped to play anda Maximof, also known as the Scarlet Witch, in Joss Whedon's upcoming "Avengers" sequel, "Age of Ultron."

Sources told Bleeding Cool back in August that producers were seriously considering the 24-year-old actress for the part. But it was her co-star, Nick Fury himself, who let the cat out of the bag during an interview with the Wall Street Journal Wednesday.

"I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch]," Samuel L. Jackson told the paper. "But I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script."

Deadline confirmed Jackson's comments, saying that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's younger sister has nearly closed the deal.

"[It's] just a matter of formality before it’s done," a source said.

Age of Ultron" will hit theaters in May 2015.
