USDA recalls beef intended for school lunches

Beef that was being shipped to schools in Arkansas, California, Montana and Texas was recalled just before it got there.

The USDA recalled beef Wednesday that was bound for school cafeterias in Arkansas, California, Montana and Texas.

The beef, which was for use in the government-subsidized National School Lunch Program, was recalled after small pieces of plastic were found in it.

No reports have been received about illness or injuries from consuming the ground beef.
