Hugh Douglas, a former defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles, was arrested in Hartford, Conn., and charged with assault after allegedly attacking a woman in a hotel.

Douglas was arraigned Tuesday on charges of third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.

According to court documents, Douglas "grabbed her neck" and "slammed her into the walls several times." Douglas reportedly said the injuries occurred during rough sex.
