Amanda Bynes mentally unfit to stand trial

Amanda Bynes is mentally unfit to stand trial for her 2012 DUI arrest, according to her lawyer, Rich Hutton.

Bynes was supposed to appear in court Tuesday for her April, 2012 DUI arrest in West Hollywood. Her attorney told the judge Bynes didn't have the mental capacity to understand the legal proceedings.

The judge transferred the case to mental health court, where another hearing will determine the former child star's mental competency.

Bynes is still undergoing long-term treatment after going to a psychiatric hospital in July and being placed under a temporary conservatorship.
