Sept. 19 (UPI) -- "This is not a game," Kerry said during remarks on Syria Thursday after meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The Secretary of State said that it is possible for the international community to remove chemical weapons from Syrian control through peaceful means, despite nations including Russia and China being in disagreement with the U.S.

“While we appreciate China’s support for a political solution -- we do have differences between our nations and have disagreed sharply over how the international community should respond to the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons.”

Kerry stressed that Sarin gas was used in the chemical attack in Syria that resulted in hundreds of deaths, many of them children. He also said the U.N. report was missing "crucial details" proving the Assad regime, and not rebels, was responsible for the attack.

"Please. This isn't complicated," Kerry said. "Let's not spend time debating what we already know."

"With negotiations ongoing at the Security Council, we look forward to China playing a positive, constructive, important role," Kerry added.
