Gold-plated Lamborghini up for auction at $7.5 million in Dubai

By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

Nothing says extravagance like a Lamborghini -- except a Lamborghini made of gold and precious medal. If you've got $7.5 million lying around, consider this Lamborghini, currently up for auction in Dubai. CNBC reported Tuesday that the unique Aventador LP-700-4 model, dubbed the most expensive car in the world, was "carved out of a 500-kilogram block of solid gold."

Unfortunately, the over-the-top car has yet to be made so that the individual buyer can specify it to his or her needs. The one on display in Dubai is just a prototype and can't be driven anywhere. Though Lamborghini says it hasn't heard from any prospective buyers, $650,000 of the sale would go to charity.
