The final moment of Anthony Weiner's failed campaign was the New York mayoral candidate's middle finger, directed at a reporter as he left Tuesday night. Weiner flipped the bird as he departed his primary election night party after delivering his concession speech, punctuating the end of his bizarre campaign and an unusual evening.

Weiner had trouble getting into the event in the first place, as Sydney Leathers, the centerpiece of Weiner's sexting controversy, showed up outside the venue. Leathers, who is now embracing a career in the porn industry, showed up in what she admitted was a play for media attention. "Why are you here?" she was asked. "I'm kind of the reason he's losing. So, might as well show up," she said. Plus, she said, "I'll only be 23 years old once." "I'm here to celebrate. I think he needs some sex therapy," Leathers said. For nearly 30 minutes, it was a media frenzy surrounding Leathers, who wore a skintight red dress and stilettos. There, she waited for Weiner to show up.
"We went to his campaign headquarters today first, and he decided to rearrange his schedule because apparently he doesn't think he can handle confronting me or me being in his presence so I felt like it was only appropriate to make one last stop," Leathers said. Leathers was right, as the campaign staff spent a long time figuring out how to get Weiner in without confrontation. Weiner made no mention of her presence during his concession speech, but left with a telling one-fingered gesture.
