Teresa Scanlan has returned to college eight months after completing her reign as Miss America 2011.

While speaking to the Washington Post, the 19-year-old model explained that she'd wanted to attend Evangelical Christian school Patrick Henry College in Virginia since she was a little girl.

“I have wanted to go to Patrick Henry College since I was 7 years old,” she told the Post. “All my plans and goals have been from a very young age.”

Unfortunately for Scanlan, who is currently a motivational speaker, living in the dorms is not an option for her.

“I wish I could live in the dorms,” she said. “But it wasn’t going to be realistic with my need for office space and a permanent address. . . I can’t drop off the planet for seven years and then try to resume my career.”

The former Miss America has high hopes for her future as she expects to have career in politics or law. Her Facebook page even includes a 2028 presidential bid. Her backup plan would be joining the Supreme Court.

“The caliber of kids here really blows me away,” Scanlan said of her school. “I don’t even want to throw my title around when so many others are so far beyond.”

Patrick Henry College is a private institution that "centers on Jesus Christ." The school offers a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) in Classical Liberal Arts, History, Literature, Government and Journalism.

In accordance with the school's rules for off-campus freshman, Scanlan's mother had to relocate to the house she purchased in Purcellville, Va. bringing along her three homeschooled younger siblings.
