Yet another wildfire that broke out east of the San Francisco Bay Area Sunday doubled in size Monday to 1,500 acres, largely burning out of control.

An additional 500 firefighters were called in to join 300 personnel already battling the blaze that broke out in Mt. Diablo State Park, 40 miles east of San Francisco, thanks to dry weather and soaring temperatures.

Cal Fire staff chief David Shew said the so-called Morgan fire has forced the evacuation of approximately 100 homes, so far, as crews worked to build on 10 percent containment.

“It’s going to be a pretty big battle to build all those control lines,” Shew said.
