Bruno Mars to rock Super Bowl halftime

Grammy winning soul superstar Bruno Mars will take the stage at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2, 2014, for the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show.

When the football players clear the field at halftime at the 2014 Super Bowl, soul superstar Bruno Mars will take center stage.

The "Gorilla" singer was officially named the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime performer during the Fox NFL Sunday broadcast live in Times Square in New York. The NFL said Super Bowl halftime shows are the most-watched live musical concerts each year.

Mars joins an impressive collection of artists, including Beyonce, Prince, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and U2 to take the Super Bowl stage.

This season's game will be played at MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Giants and the New York Jets, in East Rutherford, N.J.
