Sept. 8 (UPI) -- In what must have been a life-changing moment for Salt Lake City's nerds, Captain Kirk and Batman appeared on stage together at the Utah city's Comic-Con Friday.

William Shatner, who captained the Starship Enterprise on "Star Trek," and Adam West, who played Batman in the 1960s TV series, came together to discuss the 20th century television landscape and aging.

"I have always the same doubts, the same fears, the same nervousness if you will, the same lack of confidence in what I may do next may not be good enough," West, 84, said of his work as an actor.

"I feel like I’m in church listening to them talk," one 25-year-old attendee told the Salt Lake Tribune.

As for their future plans, both men said they would consider roles on "Big Bang Theory," Chuck Lorre's massively successful ode to geekdom.

While West answered "maybe," Shatner seemed more open to the idea.

"I promise you, I’m going back to L.A. tomorrow. Monday morning I’ll make a call, OK?" the 82-year-old actor said.

Leonard Nimoy, Shartner's former partner-in-crime, has already lent his voice to a Spock action figure that appeared on the show.
