Snake in Starbucks bathroom startles Texas man

Forget "snakes on a place," what about snakes in a Starbucks?

Bruce Ahlswede was about to relieve himself at a Starbucks cafe in San Antonio when he saw something laying across the toilet bowl -- a slithery but harmless Texas rat snake.

Ahlswede went to notify a Starbucks employee, but when they returned to the bathroom the snake disappeared into the toilet.

But not before Ahlswede's wife, Michelle, managed to snap a photo of the reptile hugging the rim of the bowl.

"Bruce went to the little boys room and got a big surprise," Michelle captioned the photo on Facebook.

"It had to have crawled up the pipes," Michelle added. "I have heard of it happening but have never seen it in person."

"Guess he like coffee also," she said.

Ahlswede told KSAT that he'll continue to patronize Starbucks, but he plans on taking "a closer look" whenever he visits the restroom.

"Cause you never know," he said.

Though the snake was never caught, Starbucks issued a statement saying that the cafe is still safe to visit.
