They get more interesting when they involve Riley Cooper, though. Cooper took a leave of absence in July after he was caught on camera spitting out racial slurs.
Cooper and cornerback Cary Williams, who previously said he had a problem with Cooper's use of racially tainted language, started a heated shoving match Thursday during practice.
The fight was caught on film by CSN Philadelphia. The scuffle started when Williams was on Cooper's back while defending him in a one-on-one drill.
Williams threw the receiver to the ground after the pass fell incomplete.
The two immediately started to fight, with Williams throwing a few punches and grabbing Cooper's face mask.
"We got tangled up going for the ball," Cooper said. "We both ended up on the ground -- which you don't want to do in practice, especially in the season. No one wants to end up on the ground going for a ball because that's when injuries happen."
Two people stepped in to break up the fight, but Williams kept swinging, throwing off his helmet and shouting at Cooper.
According to another player on the field, Williams said to Cooper more than once, "I'm not a [expletive] you [expletive] with."
Michael Vick stepped in and tried to hold back Williams as he shouted. Williams then said something to Vick, and the Eagles quarterback had to be pulled away, too.
"Any time there's something extra on the field with Riley and another teammate or an opponent, that's the first thing that's going to come up -- especially if the guy's black," said running back LeSean McCoy.
Cooper said that the incident Thursday had nothing to do with the June video, but Williams had said in the past that he did take issue with his word choice.
"It's tough to get through, and I don't know him. But I did see the tape and it's disheartening for a guy to say something like that," Williams said. "I mean, you're angry, but I just feel like it's several other words or things he could have said. He used something that was just over the top."
